I’m a single mother working part-time, but live with my partner, could he claim us?

I’m only going to make about 15grand this year, He’ll make about 39grand. Is it okay for him to claim my daughter and I on his income tax return next year? What about on his w-4 right now? Would he be able to get the earned income credit?
My other thought was, what if he claimed me and I claimed my daughter? Would that be good or not as good as if he claims us both?
this is my idea, not his. I was hoping he could claim us so we could get even more money than with me claiming us. he’s not trying to ***** me over, i’m trying to see what would be to our best financial advantage. these are great answers. thanks everyone!

Anyone rich or wealthy have $10,000 to spare to a single hard working young mother?

March 9th, 2009

Love is great asked:

It sounds pathetic I know. But, hey it doesn’t hurt to try right! Would anyone like to donate to my charity. A charity for a hard working single mother who is so tired of working her **** off and still not reaching goals set forth and able to live a comfortable life.

I work so hard at everything and I still seem to fall short. I work everyday and I am trying to save up for a move however things are not working out as I hoped and I am struggling.

If you do not want to give me $10,000 I will surely accept it as a loan and pay it back with interest!

Can anyone help me?
First of all to the guy who states that I am a single mother by choice….I was married when I had my daughter and no matter what you or anyone else says you never know how long a relationship will last and when you will grow apart. Most women are not single mothers by choice and when a relationship fails that does not mean you are a bad person or that you are in some lower class percentage. Yes, I work every single day and her father does pay child support and is in her life. We are just no longer together.

Thank you for all of the comments. And ladies keep up the good work. My hat goes off to all single mothers out there who are taking care of their responsibilites and raising these children!

Are the children of working mothers better off than children of stay at homes?

March 8th, 2009

Cybele asked:

Virtually everyone I know at university has a mother who is a career woman. Kids I knew in high school with stay at homes weren’t as high achieving as those whose mothers worked. Is this just my anecdotal observation or is documented fact?

What’s a legit way of making good money as a hard-working yet stay-at-home mother?

ikikochan asked:

I worked throughout the entire pregnancy and up til now (with a now 10-month-old baby), but my baby is getting too mobile for the management job that I have. I can’t keep her safe! I’d like to keep working, but from home. Does anyone have experience with legit and well-paying home jobs? I have a bachelor’s too, if that helps.
